    • How often are your regular classes?

Most dance, fitness classes are 2 days a week i.e. 8 classes in a month. These are best if you have limited time or are just getting started. If you wish to work out more often (fitness), you can either sign up for more than one batch (you get 10% discount) or take the unlimited fitness plan that opens the doors for you 7 days a week. If you wish to pursue any dance form in depth, write to us at info@dhurii.com and we will help you out.

    • Can I sign up for more than one dance form?

Absolutely. You can pursue more than one form. Signing up for 2 or more batches gets you a 10% discount on each. If you have queries on how you should plan to take it forward / pursue each deeply, talk to our instructors.

    • What kind of plans do you have?

You can sign up for 1, 3 or 6 months. If you are signing up for dance, you pick a form (or 2 if you like). In fitness, all forms are open. Most classes are typically 2 days a week. Dhurii offers regular classes in multiple dance forms and fitness forms. Among dance, we specialize in Contemporary, Indo-contemporary, Bollywood, Belly dance and Latin dance forms like Salsa, Bachata, Jive and Cha Cha. Among fitness, you can chooose from Zumba and cardio conditioning, Pilates and Hatha Yoga.

    • Should I join dance or fitness classes?

If you are thinking about this, we would suggest that you join fitness and take one trial class in any dance form to start. You will be able to discover your interests and can always expand into others.

    • Can I dance?

Absolutely. As with any skill, dance can be learnt with consistent practice. It takes an interest and some consistency. If you give yourself 3 months, you will be able to easily get to a level beyond what you can imagine now. We have consistently seen students learn well when they get in and stick around. Show up and give it your best shot. Our instructors are here to help you in all possible ways. Your peer group will also be around to help you practice additional time and get it right. Give it a shot. Sign up now. :)

    • Is Cardio better for me than going to a Gym?

While each has it's benefits, our Zumba and cardio conditioning classes are much more fun. What matters is spending time on your workout consistently and we have seen that motivation is really the biggest force. With fun classes, you would want to come and work out. Once do you do it consistently, you will certainly see benefits. Importantly, our classes are a lot more personal with the instructors being available always to interact and help you meet your health goals.

    • How do I choose a dance form?

If you are just starting off with dance, we would suggest you start with Bollywood. You will get the basics of moving to music and then you can explore. If you are looking for a fun social dance form, that would be the Latino forms (partner dance, and you don't need to join with a partner). Our latino classes cover 4 different forms. Contemporary dance is a very versatile form and a bit challenging as it goes way beyond our usual notions of dance being done while always being on our feet. If that sounds exciting, you should try it. Indo-contemporary is an easier variant and is done more to Indian music. Belly dance (open only to women) is a great choice if you are looking for a form which involves delicate technique.

    • How do I choose a fitness form?

Choosing a fitness form starts with identifying what your health goals are. If your idea of being healthy is being fit enough to have enough stamina to get through the day, avoid common aches and pains like back aches, neck strain, knee pain, you should be looking at getting yourself some more core strength and should try Pilates. If you have larger plans and say want to be able to do treks, excel in sports etc, you would give yourself some good cardio workouts. Join us for Zumba. On the other hand, if you wish to focus on improving your flexibility, get your sleep patterns right, get good lung capacity etc, do join us for our yoga classes.

    • More than one?

Why not? All our fitness plans let you explore all forms. You can do cardio on weekends, and add 1 or 2 days of yoga or pilates on weekdays. Feel free to find what works for you. Talk to our instructors if you need help. Ask about our "Dhurii Membership" that gives you access to all classes.

    • How do I avoid injuries?

Injury prevention is a key focus at Dhurii fitness classes. In simple terms, there are a few key guidelines you need to follow in regard to body alignment, balance etc that our instructors will guide you on. Be mindful when you practice. Ensure you do it right during the first few times and then it will become second nature to you so you dont have to worry and can focus on the fun. :)
